Department Description

Cloud Platform Engineering develops and supports cloud platforms, automation, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, security guardrails, observability, and developer enablement capabilities used by technology teams across the organization.

What You’ll be Working On

You’ll partner with engineers to improve the cloud platforms and developer tools used by technology teams across ISO New England. Projects may include cloud automation, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipeline enhancements, developer tooling, documentation, observability improvements, and AI-assisted engineering initiatives that make it easier for teams to build, test, deploy, and support applications.

You’ll gain practical experience with cloud engineering, DevOps, automation, platform engineering, secure software delivery, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development while contributing to meaningful enterprise technology projects.

Your work will help improve developer productivity, strengthen cloud automation, and support adoption of modern engineering practices across ISO New England. By helping build secure, reliable, and easy-to-use platform capabilities, you’ll contribute to the technology foundation that supports the region’s power grid and wholesale electricity markets.

What We Look for in a Candidate

Rising senior pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field.
Experience with programming and familiarity with Git, and Linux preferred.
Exposure to AWS, Terraform, containers, CI/CD, Python, JavaScript or AI-assisted development tooling is a plus.
Curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and an interest in cloud engineering, automation, and developer experience.

The expected hourly range for this position is $19-$36 per hour, depending on your year in college. Interns are eligible for some paid time off benefits and have access to our wellness program. Our internships also provide interns with exposure to the energy industry, mentorships, and real-world experience.

This is a U.S. based role. If the successful candidate resides outside of the U.S., relocation will be required.

To be eligible for an internship with ISO New England, a candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
