Description
The Apple News Operations team is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to build and maintain the full-stack applications and data tools that internal teams depend on. You will apply AI-assisted development practices to ship faster and document better. You will also provide technical guidance to publishers, helping them navigate platform capabilities and troubleshoot integration issues. This role is a strong fit for someone who is comfortable moving between technical problem-solving and partner-facing communication.
Minimum Qualifications
2 to 4 years in software engineering or technical operations, with shipped internal tooling or automation systems as evidence. Solid Python proficiency applied to scripting, automation, or backend services. Hands-on experience designing and optimizing both SQL and NoSQL databases. Experience with React and related frontend technologies. Ability to analyze data and build solutions that drive actionable insights. Familiarity and deep interest in applying AI to enhance tooling and productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience presenting technical architecture or recommendations to varied audiences, including non-engineers. Strong debugging and triage skills, with security-conscious engineering instincts demonstrated through code review practices and data handling decisions. Experience working directly with external partners in a technical capacity. Familiarity with media, publishing, or digital content platforms, with working knowledge of how content pipelines and publisher ecosystems operate.
