Role summary:As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams. About the team:
The Walmart Finance Technology – Finance Data Factory (FDF) team develops advanced data platforms and workflows that handle large-scale data processing for visualization and downstream applications. The team leverages machine learning and statistical modeling to enhance transparency, governance, and automation. Focused on improving business partner experiences, the team standardizes core processes and utilizes reporting and predictive analytics to deliver insights efficiently. Members collaborate to design scalable solutions, drive continuous improvement, and support innovation aligned with Walmart’s strategic goals, ensuring high-quality, reliable software delivery in a dynamic environment.
What you'll do:
- Own delivery of scoped features and components through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Integrate AI/ML components and leverage generative AI tools to enhance software capabilities and development efficiency.
- Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and apply best practices for scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor application performance, support defect management, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Mentor peers, promote continuous improvement, and contribute to engineering excellence and innovation.
What you'll bring:
- 3–4+ years software development experience
- Frontend: JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React.js or Next.js
- Backend: Java, Spring, RESTful microservices
- Messaging: Kafka (or similar)
- Databases: SQL and NoSQL (e.g., MSSQL, BigQuery)
- Cloud: Azure or GCP (cloud-native development)
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
- API design, development, and management
- CI/CD: Jenkins, Travis, KITT
- UI development: React, React Native
- UI testing: Jest
- Java stack: Spring, Maven, Hibernate; Python (PySpark preferred)
- Cloud deployments: scaling, resiliency, load balancing
- Monitoring/logging: Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana
- Agile experience (Scrum, standups)
- Experience supporting large-scale production systems
- Strong communication; cross-team collaboration

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
