Full-Stack Developer

Your Responsibilities

• As a full-stack developer, you will:
• Design and build features in our user-facing products that bridge the gap between front-end code and back-end.
• Design and manage database schemas that accurately represent our business logic.
• Propose novel solutions to improve performance and/or maintainability of our code.
• Write automated tests, follow good software practices to build robust software, and help us iteratively improve the way we do things.

Requirements

• We’re looking for smart and capable developers. Ideally, you:
• Have several years of experience software development. Experience with specific languages is nice-to-have but not required.
• Have experience with front-end code. You know the nuances of CSS and HTML, and are familiar with modern component-based design.
• Take pride in building good quality code, ensuring that it's understandable and readable, and that it's well tested using automated unit and integration tests.
• Display strong communication skills so you can collaborate easily with your teammates.

Nice-to-Have

• On top of the core requirements for this role, it would be beneficial if you:
• Have Python or Go experience. Even better if you have Django or gRPC experience.
• Have Typescript experience. Even better if you are familiar with the web components standard, and technologies like React or Redux.
• Have experience with Linux and the standard UNIX toolchain.
• Have some experience with modern production tools such as Docker.
• Have experience designing APIs between microservices in ways that are easily extensible and maintainable.
• Are comfortable taking the lead on your responsibilities, driving them forward, and helping other developers do the same.

Our Stack

• Microservices written in Python 3 and Go.
• Database layer is Django or gorm, backed by Postgres.
• Everything deployed with Docker containers in Google Kubernetes Engine.
• Anything that you think will help us do better. We’re not hard-set on any specific technology and are always happy to explore new options.
