Job Description

Hi, I'm Zaeem, a Technical Lead at Moves. I am looking for a Full Stack Developer with a focus on the back end to join our engineering team who will help us continue to build our product, Moves (movesfinancial.com). This role is fully remote and we accept applicants from all over Canada.

Here’s the TL;DR on Moves

We are creating a modern digital collective and a platform of financial products. Moves customers (we call them ‘members’) will earn economic interest in the collective by consuming financial products and taking steps to improve their overall financial health - all while belonging to a growing group of their peers pursuing similar objectives. This position is a great opportunity to join a young team with the opportunity to grow and contribute to all phases of product development, starting close to inception all the way to delivery.

All process-flows and tools are in an infant stage of growth and there will be opportunities for you to provide suggestions to optimize the processes. What you'll do 🧐

1. Build end-to-end product features for core and strategic applications and products.
2. Work with product managers and product designers, constantly iterating and experimenting on new product features.
3. Contribute to our knowledge pool, introducing new technologies and concepts from your background, as well as learning from others on the team.
4. Contribute as a key member of a delivery team, working on all phases of product development, starting close to inception all the way to delivery.

What we're looking for 😎

• 3 years+* of proven professional experience as an application developer with a back-end integration focus, building applications/software systems, preferably in a product led company.
• Experience working with Javascript (Typescript is a plus) and Node.js on the backend.
• Experience working with databases in production. MongoDB is a bonus.
• Proficiency with writing automated tests.
• Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude.
• Experience in an iterative software development environment - Agile, Scrum. internship, co-op and other academic experience counts too!

• Salary range is CAD$90,000-110,000 annually (commensurate with experience and location, with flexibility to increase for the right candidate)

1. 30 minutes video call to discuss the opportunity and the organization with Sarah, People and Culture Lead
2. 90 minutes technical interview with 2 of our Moves developers
3. 60 minutes call with an overview of the business and how the role fits in the company, with Stephanie, VP of Product, and Matt, CEO & Founder
