As a Senior Fullstack Engineer on the Marketing team, you will work on our marketing site: about.GitLab.com and gitlab.com. You will work closely with Product Marketing, Content Marketing, and other members of the Marketing team.

What You'll Do In This Role
  1. Implement frameworks, code style guides, and templates to empower everyone to contribute.
  2. Implement site speed improvements and technical SEO.
  3. Support the architecture and engineering (HTML, CSS, JS, Ruby, Middleman, Haml) of about.gitlab.com.
  4. Assist in building and maintaining our Content Management System.
  5. Run the marketing website as an open source project, optimizing for maximum contributions to both code and content.
  6. Lead the architecture and engineering of about.gitlab.com.
  7. Research and define frameworks, code style guides, and templates to empower everyone to contribute.
  8. Work with cross functional partners, as a team leader.
  9. Critical decision making, and knowing what will have the greatest business impact when prioritizing.
  10. Own CI automation using GitLab to build, test, and deploy.
  11. Sharing knowledge and educating on best practices and new technologies.
We're looking for
  1. Considerable experience specializing in full stack development, website and web applications.
  2. Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, HAML and JavaScript (Vue.js).
  3. Understanding of responsive design and best practices.
  4. The ability to iterate quickly and embrace feedback from many perspectives.
  5. Knowledge of information architecture, interaction design, and user-centered design.
  6. Knowledge of Git and comfortability using the command line.
  7. Experience with Jamstack, Ruby, and Middleman (and/or other static site generators).
  8. Ability to use GitLab.
  9. Previous experience with Static Site Generators like Middleman, Jekyll, Hugo, etc., preferred.
  10. Experience working in a fully or partially remote company, preferred.
  11. A positive outlook on changing priorities, preferred.
  12. The ability to proactively question and improve priorities, preferred.
  13. Marketing engineers should be familiar with marketing concepts such as conversion, analytics, A/B testing, lead generation, buyer journeys, and search engine optimization.
  14. Uses research, data, and best practices to create, validate, and present ideas to key stakeholders.
  15. A track record of being self-motivated, results oriented, and delivering on time.
  16. Expert in selecting and applying frameworks/systems to solve complicated technical problems.
  17. The ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  18. Also, we know it’s tough, but please try to avoid the confidence gap . You don’t have to match all the listed requirements exactly to be considered for this role.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently $107,500- $195,800 for Colorado residents and $107,500-$218,800 for New York and New Jersey residents only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity . Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
