Responsibilities
About the role:
This Lead Software Engineer role will provide technical leadership for GM Financial's Customer Identity &
Access Management (CIAM), Consent & Preference Management (CPM), and AI & Automation platforms. The
ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and building scalable, cloud-native solutions using
.NET, React, React Native, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern API architectures.
The candidate should possess deep expertise in identity and access management concepts, including OAuth
2.0, OpenID Connect, WebAuthn, API security, customer authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle
management. Experience with Auth0 is highly desired, including implementation of secure identity patterns
for web, mobile, machine-to-machine, and agentic AI use cases.
In addition, the candidate should have experience building AI-powered applications using OpenAI, large
language models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector-based knowledge retrieval, and agent
orchestration patterns. Experience implementing identity, delegated authorization, and secure access
patterns for AI agents and agent-driven workflows is strongly preferred.
This individual will mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and drive delivery of secure, scalable,
and compliant customer-facing solutions across digital identity, consent management, and next-generation AI
experiences.
In this role you will:
- Partners with team members to increase software skills, system understanding, and design thinking to create high performing teams
- Embeds in teams or engages across teams to accomplish business objectives using the intentional architecture
- Influences and collaborates with other towers and shared services within GM Financial and works directly with external vendors to achieve business results
- Researches and champions the implementation of new tools and approaches that benefit the organization
- The Lead understands cloud technologies and how best to employ them; and assists other team members to speed the implementation
- Champions Agile and DevOps to continuously improve product quality, time to market, and team member happiness
- Invests in automated testing and automated pipelines to deploy constantly (multiple times per sprint)
- Maintains a production-first mindset focused on scale, uptime, and the team’s ability to rapidly triage/resolve production issues
- Promotes modern software development patterns and practices that promote simplicity, understanding, reuse, and security
- In partnership with product management and solutions architect, helps to maintain a technical backlog for the agile team
- Serve as a subject matter expert on core systems, providing guidance to other team members in their maintenance and support
Qualifications
What makes you an ideal candidate?
- Hands-on development with .NET and ASP.NET Core backend services
- Frontend and mobile development using React and React Native
- Auth0 and modern CIAM patterns, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, MFA, and WebAuthn
- Identity and authorization for agentic AI, including delegated access, service-to-service access, and
secure agent workflows - Consent & Preference Management experience; Cassie experience preferred
- Kubernetes and Docker-based cloud-native deployment
- Lead Software Engineer | CIAM, CPM, and AI & Automation

Work Experience
- 7-10 years of software development experience required
- 2-4 years of experience leading multi-developer projects required
- 2-4 years as a lead and/or subject matter expert preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field; and/or commensurate experience preferred
